മനസിന്റെ മണൽത്തിട്ടകളിൽ തിരകളുയർന്നു പൊങ്ങുന്നു. ഏറെ നേരമുയർന്നു പൊങ്ങി, ശക്തമായത് താഴേക്കു വന്നു പതിക്കുന്നു. തിരകളുടെ ഓളങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ ചിന്തകൾക്ക് സമാനമായി ഉയർന്നും താണും കളിക്കുകയാണ്. മഞ്ഞ കലർന്ന വെള്ള നിറത്തിൽ നുരകൾ ആ ചിന്തകൾക്കലങ്കാരമാകുന്നു. അവനിന്നസ്വസ്ഥനാണ്. ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചു പറയാൻ ഒട്ടേറെയുണ്ടായിട്ടും, സ്വയം നിയന്ത്രിച്ചു നിശ്ശബ്ദനായിരിക്കുന്ന വേദന അവനന്നറിയുന്നു. ചുറ്റും കൂടി നിൽക്കുന്ന ആളുകളിൽ നിന്നുമവൻ ഭിന്നനായി, സ്വന്തം ചിന്തകളുടെ ചില്ലുകൂട്ടിൽ അവൻ ഏകനായി നിൽക്കുകയാണ്. കുറച്ചകലെ അവന്റെ അച്ഛന്റെ രൂപം ശ്രെദ്ധയിൽപെട്ടു. അന്നേക്ക് ഒരാഴ്ചയായി
ഒരു മനുഷ്യമനസ്സിന്റെ, നിലനില്പിന്റെ, സമുദായസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ, മുന്നേറ്റത്തിന്റെ, അധപധനത്തിന്റെ, അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും ശക്തമായ ഒരു ഘടകമാണ് ഓർമ. കഴിഞ്ഞു പോയ കാലത്തിന്റെ, സുഖദുഃഖമിടകലർന്ന, ആരാലും മായ്ക്കപ്പെടാനാവാത്ത ഏടുകളാണവ. എല്ലാം പോയിത്തുലയട്ടേ! ഞാനിതെല്ലാം ഇവിടെന്തിന് പറയുന്നുവെന്നല്ലേ? കാരണമുണ്ട്. എന്തെന്നാൽ ഞാനിവിടെ പറയുന്നത് ഓർമയുടെ പൊടിപിടിച്ച താളുകളിൽ നിന്നുമെടുത്തതാണ്. കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിശ്വസനീയമാണ് എന്ന് തോന്നുമെങ്കിലും ഇന്നീ നിമിഷം വരെ ഞാൻ സത്യമെന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണിത്. അന്ന് ഞാൻ LKG-യിലോ UKG-യിലോ മറ്റോ പഠിക്കുകയായിരുന്നിരിക്കണം. ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ചു വർഷങ്ങൾക്കിപ്പുറം ഇന്നാ ഓർമ്മകൾ ചികഞ്ഞെടുക്കാൻ
നേരം പുലരുന്നു. സൂര്യന്റെ ചൂട് കിരണങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തം ശരീരത്തെ തൊട്ടുതലോടുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടി അയാൾ ആശിച്ചു. പക്ഷെ ഉണർന്നുയരുന്ന സൂര്യദേവനെ മാറോടണച്ചു കൊണ്ട് വാത്സല്യത്തോടെ സ്വന്തം ആധിപത്യം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്ന മഞ്ഞിന്റെ പുതപ്പിനോടയാൾക്കു അമർഷം തോന്നി. ആ നിമിഷം താനൊരു ഫീനിക്സ് പക്ഷിയായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്നയാൾ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. എങ്കിലാ കട്ടിയുള്ള മറയെ സ്വന്തം കൊക്ക് കൊണ്ട് കീറിവലിച്ചു സൂര്യദേവനെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചേനെ. പക്ഷെ ഭാവനയെക്കാളുമപ്പുറമാണല്ലോ സത്യം. പതുക്കെപ്പതുക്കെ ചിന്തകളിൽ നിന്നുമായാളുണർന്നു, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഉണർത്തപെട്ടു. ബസ് ഏതോ ഗട്ടറിൽ വീണു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം രാത്രി
കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങളായി അവന്റെ ഉറക്കം ശെരിയാവുന്നില്ല. ഉറക്കത്തിന്റെ ഏതോ ഒരു കോണിൽ എന്തോ ഒന്ന് അവനെ തട്ടിയുണർത്തികൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. മഞ്ഞ നിറമുള്ള എന്തോ ഒന്ന്. അത്തരമൊരു രാത്രിയായിരുന്നന്നും. പതിവ് പോലെ ആ മഞ്ഞ നിറം അന്നും അവന്റെ ഉറക്കം കെടുത്തി. ബാല്യം – സമയവും ആരോഗ്യവുമുണ്ട് എന്നാൽ പണവും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവുമില്ല. കൗമാരം – ആരോഗ്യവും പണവും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവുമുണ്ട് എന്നാൽ സമയം എന്നൊന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടാനില്ല. വാർദ്ധക്യം – പണവും സമയവും ആവശ്യത്തിനുണ്ട്, എന്നാൽ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും ആരോഗ്യവും കൈവശമില്ല. ഏതോ പുസ്തകത്താളുകളിലെ
